"advisory_text": "Possible pod name collisions in jupyterhub-kubespawner\n\n### Impact\n_What kind of vulnerability is it? Who is impacted?_\n\nJupyterHub deployments using:\n\n- KubeSpawner <= 0.11.1 (e.g. zero-to-jupyterhub 0.9.0) and\n- enabled named_servers (not default), and\n- an Authenticator that allows:\n - usernames with hyphens or other characters that require escape (e.g. `user-hyphen` or `user@email`), and\n - usernames which may match other usernames up to but not including the escaped character (e.g. `user` in the above cases)\n\nIn this circumstance, certain usernames will be able to craft particular server names which will grant them access to the default server of other users who have matching usernames.\n\n### Patches\n_Has the problem been patched? What versions should users upgrade to?_\n\nPatch will be released in kubespawner 0.12 and zero-to-jupyterhub 0.9.1\n\n### Workarounds\n_Is there a way for users to fix or remediate the vulnerability without upgrading?_\n\n#### KubeSpawner\n\nSpecify configuration:\n\nfor KubeSpawner\n```python\nfrom traitlets import default\nfrom kubespawner import KubeSpawner\n\nclass PatchedKubeSpawner(KubeSpawner):\n @default(\"pod_name_template\")\n def _default_pod_name_template(self):\n if self.name:\n return \"jupyter-{username}-{servername}\"\n else:\n return \"jupyter-{username}\"\n\n @default(\"pvc_name_template\")\n def _default_pvc_name_template(self):\n if self.name:\n return \"claim-{username}-{servername}\"\n else:\n return \"claim-{username}\"\n\nc.JupyterHub.spawner_class = PatchedKubeSpawner\n```\n\n**Note for KubeSpawner:** this configuration will behave differently before and after the upgrade, so will need to be removed when upgrading. Only apply this configuration while still using KubeSpawner ≤ 0.11.1 and remove it after upgrade to ensure consistent pod and pvc naming.\n\nChanging the name template means pvcs for named servers will have different names. This will result in orphaned PVCs for named servers across Hub upgrade! This may appear as data loss for users, depending on configuration, but the orphaned PVCs will still be around and data can be migrated manually (or new PVCs created manually to reference existing PVs) before deleting the old PVCs and/or PVs.\n\n### References\n_Are there any links users can visit to find out more?_\n\n### For more information\nIf you have any questions or comments about this advisory:\n\n* Open an issue in [kubespawner](https://github.com/jupyterhub/kubespawner)\n* Email us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])\n\nCredit: Jining Huang",

"advisory_text": "Keylime registrar and (untrusted) Agent can be bypassed by an attacker\n\n### Impact\n\nA security issue was found in the Keylime `registrar` code which allows an attacker to effectively bypass the challenge-response protocol used to verify that an `agent` has indeed access to an AIK which in indeed related to the EK.\n\nWhen an `agent` starts up, it will contact a `registrar` and provide a public EK and public AIK, in addition to the EK Certificate. This `registrar` will then challenge the `agent` to decrypt a challenge encrypted with the EK. \n\nWhen receiving the wrong \"auth_tag\" back from the `agent` during activation, the `registrar` answers with an error message that contains the expected correct \"auth_tag\" (an HMAC which is calculated within the `registrar` for checking). An attacker could simply record the correct expected \"auth_tag\" from the HTTP error message and perform the activate call again with the correct expected \"auth_tag\" for the `agent`.\n\nThe security issue allows an attacker to pass the challenge-response protocol during registration with (almost) arbitrary registration data. In particular, the attacker can provide a valid EK Certificate and EK, which passes verification by the `tenant` (or `registrar`), while using a compromised AIK, which is stored unprotected outside the TPM and is unrelated to former two. The attacker then deliberately fails the initial activation call to get to know the correct \"auth_tag\" and then provides it in a subsequent activation call. This results in an `agent` which is (incorrectly) registered with a valid EK Certificate, but with a compromised/unrelated AIK.\n\n### Patches\nUsers should upgrade to release 7.5.0",

"advisory_text": "Key Caching behavior in the DynamoDB Encryption Client.\n\n### Impact\nThis advisory concerns users of MostRecentProvider in the DynamoDB Encryption Client with a key provider like AWS Key Management Service that allows for permissions on keys to be modified.\n\nWhen key usage permissions were changed at the key provider, time-based key reauthorization logic in MostRecentProvider did not reauthorize the use of the key. This created the potential for keys to be used in the DynamoDB Encryption Client after permissions to do so were revoked at the key provider.\n\n### Patches\nFixed as of 1.3.0. We recommend users to modify their code and adopt `CachingMostRecentProvider`.\n\n\n### Workarounds\nUsers who cannot upgrade to use the `CachingMostRecentProvider` can call `clear()` on the cache to manually flush all of its contents. Next use of the key will force a re-validation to occur with the key provider.",

"advisory_text": "Sails before 0.12.7 vulnerable to Broken CORS\n\nAffected versions of `sails` have an issue with the CORS configuration where the value of the origin header is reflected as the value for the `Access-Control-Allow-Origin` header. This may allow an attacker to make AJAX requests to vulnerable hosts through cross-site scripting or a malicious HTML Document, effectively bypassing the Same Origin Policy. \n\n## Mitigating Factors\n\nThis is only an issue when `allRoutes` is set to `true` and `origin` is set to `*` or left commented out in the sails CORS config file. \n\nThe problem can be compounded when the cors `credentials` setting is not provided, because at that point authenticated cross domain requests are possible.\n\n\n## Recommendation\n\nUpdate to version 0.12.7 or later.\n\nAs this vulnerability is primarily a user error, the patch for the vulnerability will simply cause the application to write an error message to the console when a vulnerable configuration is used in a production environment.\n\nWriting a proper CORS configuration is still the responsibility of the user, so it is necessary to check for the error message after installing the patch. Be sure you are not using `allRoutes: true` with `origin:'*'`, and that you uncomment `origin` and set it to a reasonable value. Ensure that if `origin` is set to `*` that you truly mean for all other websites to be able to make cross-domain requests to your API.\n\nLikewise, ensure `credentials` is uncommented out and set to the appropriate value. Make sure to explicitly set which origins may request resources via CORS.",

"advisory_text": "axios-cache-interceptor Vulnerable to Cache Poisoning via Ignored HTTP Vary Header\n\n## Summary\n\nWhen a server calls an upstream service using different auth tokens, axios-cache-interceptor returns incorrect cached responses, leading to authorization bypass.\n\n## Details\n\nThe cache key is generated only from the URL, ignoring request headers like `Authorization`. When the server responds with `Vary: Authorization` (indicating the response varies by auth token), the library ignores this, causing all requests to share the same cache regardless of authorization.\n\n## Impact\n\n**Affected:** Server-side applications (APIs, proxies, backend services) that:\n\n- Use axios-cache-interceptor to cache requests to upstream services\n- Handle requests from multiple users with different auth tokens\n- Upstream services replies on `Vary` to differentiate caches\n\n**Not affected:** Browser/client-side applications (single user per browser session).\n\nServices using different auth tokens to call upstream services will return incorrect cached data, bypassing authorization checks and leaking user data across different authenticated sessions.\n\n## Solution\n\nAfter `v1.11.1`, automatic `Vary` header support is now enabled by default.\n\nWhen server responds with `Vary: Authorization`, cache keys now include the authorization header value. Each user gets their own cache.\n\n```js\n// v1.11.1+ (automatic, no config needed)\n// User 123: key = hash(url + {authorization: 'Bearer 123'})\n// User 456: key = hash(url + {authorization: 'Bearer 456'})\n// ✓ Different caches, no poisoning\n```\n\n## Remediation\n\nUpgrade to v1.11.1 or later. _No code changes required, protection is automatic_\n\n\n## Proof of Concept\n\n```js\nconst http = require('node:http');\nconst axios = require('axios');\nconst { setupCache } = require('axios-cache-interceptor');\n\n// Server that returns different responses based on Authorization\nconst server = http.createServer((req, res) => {\n const auth = req.headers.authorization;\n\n res.setHeader('Vary', 'Authorization');\n\n if (auth === 'Bearer 123') {\n res.write('Hello, user 123!');\n } else if (auth === 'Bearer 456') {\n res.write('Hello, user 456!');\n } else {\n res.write('Unknown');\n }\n\n res.end();\n});\n\nserver.listen(5000);\n\n// Client making requests with different tokens\nconst cachedAxios = setupCache(axios.create());\n\nconst server2 = http.createServer(async (_req, res) => {\n const authHeader =\n Math.random() < 0.5 ? 'Bearer 123' : 'Bearer 456';\n\n const response = await cachedAxios.get('http://localhost:5000', {\n headers: { Authorization: authHeader }\n });\n\n console.log({\n response: response.data,\n cached: response.cached,\n auth: authHeader\n });\n res.write(response.data);\n res.end();\n});\n\nserver2.listen(5001);\n\n// Trigger 10 requests\nPromise.all(\n Array.from({ length: 10 }, () =>\n axios.get('http://localhost:5001').catch(console.error)\n )\n).finally(() => {\n server.close();\n server2.close();\n});\n```\n\nAll 10 responses return \"Hello, user 123!\" even when using \"Bearer 456\" - users receive each other's cached data.",

"advisory_text": "Lack of authentication mechanism in Jenkins Git Plugin webhook\n\nGit Plugin provides a webhook endpoint at `/git/notifyCommit` that can be used to notify Jenkins of changes to an SCM repository. For its most basic functionality, this endpoint receives a repository URL, and Jenkins will schedule polling for all jobs configured with the specified repository. In Git Plugin 4.11.3 and earlier, this endpoint can be accessed with GET requests and without authentication. In addition to this basic functionality, the endpoint also accept a `sha1` parameter specifying a commit ID. If this parameter is specified, jobs configured with the specified repo will be triggered immediately, and the build will check out the specified commit. Additionally, the output of the webhook endpoint will provide information about which jobs were triggered or scheduled for polling, including jobs the user has no permission to access. This allows attackers with knowledge of Git repository URLs to trigger builds of jobs using a specified Git repository and to cause them to check out an attacker-specified commit, and to obtain information about the existence of jobs configured with this Git repository. Additionally, this webhook endpoint does not require POST requests, resulting in a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability. Git Plugin 4.11.4 requires a `token` parameter which will act as an authentication for the webhook endpoint. While GET requests remain allowed, attackers would need to be able to provide a webhook token. For more information see [the plugin documentation](https://github.com/jenkinsci/git-plugin/#push-notification-from-repository).",

The administrator decides to remove an ACL\n2. The resource associated with the removed ACL continues to have two or more other ACLs associated with it after the removal.\n\nWhen those two preconditions are met, Kafka will treat the resource as if it had only one ACL associated with it after the removal, rather than the two or more that would be correct.\n\nThe incorrect condition is cleared by removing all brokers in ZK mode, or by adding a new ACL to the affected resource. Once the migration is completed, there is no metadata loss (the ACLs all remain).\n\nThe full impact depends on the ACLs in use. If only ALLOW ACLs were configured during the migration, the impact would be limited to availability impact. if DENY ACLs were configured, the impact could include confidentiality and integrity impact depending on the ACLs configured, as the DENY ACLs might be ignored due to this vulnerability during the migration period.",
